#RPGaDAY2020 Day 27 Flavour

Day 26 Strange

One of the constant themes that runs through my gaming is that I try to keep the flavour of the game upbeat and aspirational.

Recently, there has been a lot of interest around Wretched. A fellow creator I work with frequently produced several Wretched hacks, which I believe was Azukail Games first foray into solo play.

In theory, Wretched games should be pretty easy to write, but they just don’t do it for me.

I won’t write for a game I won’t play. I don’t think you can capture the flavour of the game, the essence of the playstyle.

I accidentally ended up playing 13th Age this week. It was not on my schedule at all. Dungeon World was what I wanted to play but a freak power outage and no PDF rulebook threw my plans out. As usual I will put my rules out for other people to enjoy. I liked the One Unique Thing, I think that is a great idea, I also liked the writers interpretation of failing forward and their complications. 13th Age is a game with a Can do attitude and that is my kind of flavour.
