September seems to be bundle season. There is the SWAG-tember (a 50% off mega bundle of Savage Worlds content), then GRIMtember (a 33% off bundle of Zweihander community content) and there may be more as well.
Chantel Jones runs regular Two for Tuesday offers. It looks like these are temporary bundles matching two titles. There are a couple of ways of managing this, both are pretty simple. The first is to have a handful of bundles with different adventure combinations, and you just make one public each Tuesday, and turn the previous one private. The other option is to have a single bundle and just change one or both products in the bundle.
Neither option is a lot of work.
But I started thinking about how to get the maximum amount of work from such a simple idea.
The most useful tool we have is the Purchaser Thankyou note. It is the one place where DTRPG is happy for you to link out. It is only seen after the sale has taken place, so they are not losing a sale by you linking out from there.
If we put a footer on products saying check the sales confirmation email or cart checkout for their free product, and then put a discount link for the free thing in the confirmation note, you could make people pay attention to this area of screen space. It also has the advantage of being in the email as well.
Now you have their attention you can also direct people to your patreon, mailing list or wherever you most need your customers to support you.
Will this work?
I have no idea. I haven’t tried it yet. But I am going to.
